PSOW Alumna Trish Hulett Exemplifies Excellence in Army Protocol at Rock Island Arsenal

Behind every high-level military command is a team that ensures seamless coordination, flawless execution, and unwavering professionalism. At the U.S. Army Sustainment Command (ASC), headquartered at Rock Island Arsenal, that responsibility falls in part to Trish Hulett, senior protocol specialist—and a proud alumna of The Protocol School of Washington®.

In a recent feature published by ASC, Hulett’s work was spotlighted for its essential role in supporting not just the command, but also the entire Rock Island Arsenal community. Whether coordinating change of command ceremonies or preparing for visits from high-ranking officials and elected leaders, Hulett ensures that every detail reflects the standards, traditions, and dignity of the U.S. Army.

“Many would say we are glorified party planners,” Hulett said in the feature. “I think that’s an insult because we do far more than that.”

At PSOW, we couldn’t agree more.

Protocol is about more than pomp and polish—it’s about ensuring clarity, respect, and cultural awareness in high-stakes environments. For Hulett, that means working under pressure, adapting on the fly, and coordinating every element of major events: itineraries, transportation, seating, official gifts, ceremonies, and more.

We’re always proud to see our graduates succeed. Our curriculum at The Protocol School of Washington is designed not only to teach best practices, but to build the confidence and decision-making skills professionals need in real-time, when things change at the last minute or when every detail matters most.
