Meet Shanna Ullmann, "PSOW Walk of Fame" STAR
In honor of National Business Etiquette Week (NBEW) June 3-9, 2018, we wanted to take this opportunity to provide a better understanding of our graduates and the amazing things they are doing! Shanna Ullmann is a 2007 graduate of PSOW, Here's what she shared with us!
How do you utilize your PSOW training? When I first graduated 11 years ago, I immediately began teaching half and full-day trainings to corporate and university clients. Over the years, I have expanded my PSOW offerings to my clients in the government and military sectors as well. I believe at my very core in what we teach and try to live each day with grace, consideration and respect for others I encounter.
What topics do you teach the most (or favorite topics to teach)? I really do love them all. I teach business/dining etiquette and intercultural protocol the most. My favorite classes are when participants who struggle with social interactions learn practical tools they can use immediately to help them navigate through any interpersonal engagement. It's a game changer for many people and frees them up to let their true personality shine.
How has PSOW had an impact on your life/career? My favorite quote is from Maya Angelou - "I've learned that people will forget what you said, they will forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel". PSOW instilled in me the knowledge and skills to help others learn the art and practice of positive engagements. It's about so much more than manners. It's about authenticity in our interactions with others. I will be forever grateful to PSOW for the empowerment they gave me as a trainer in this arena.
What advice would you give to those who are considering attending a course at PSOW? Hands down, PSOW is the gold standard. So many times in my career, in conversations with potential clients, as soon as I mention that I am a graduate of PSOW it's a game changer. The school is known and respected not only across this country, but globally as well. Many of my global clients say one of the leading factors in choosing me to conduct their training is my credentials from PSOW. You can be assured when you choose PSOW you will never be sorry!
First job(s)? In college I drove the beverage cart at a golf course. My first job out of college was in Human Resources for a large retail company.
Favorite book, movie or TV show? My favorite book is 25 Ways to Win With People by John Maxwell. Favorite movie is Christmas Vacation. Favorite TV show is anything on the Food Network.
Guilty Pleasure? Tiramisu!!!
If there’s one thing we should know about you, it is… I love to cook! If you come to my house be prepared to eat. A lot!
