"What does your typical day look like now?": PSOW grads tell their story.

Janet Adetu - Graduation Date: 27 March 2012 Why did you initially come to PSOW? After a couple of trainings from other institutions my drive and passion for excellence led me in search of a more reputable and credible training. The PSOW was well established with global recognition.

What was your biggest take-away? The sessions were very informative, fun and interactive. I enjoyed the opportunity of meeting intellectual individuals with a wealth of talent. The course content was also rich and detailed.

Are you consulting: full-time, part-time, or within your company or organization? I started my business in Nairobi, Kenya full time. I recently opened an office in Lagos, Nigeria which is actively running full time too.

What does your typical day look like now? Interesting. My days are very busy, if I am not training a corporate organization or young professionals, I write for the Editions magazine in Kenya and have been for the last two years. I am now featured on both TV and radio interviews, and recently have been called to give keynote addresses at women’s conferences.

What is the best part of having your own business/consultancy? The best part for me is being able to call the shots, make my own decisions and strategize my methodology.

How long did it take for you to get your business “off the ground?” My steps have been gradual however within the first year, I was able to deliver a few seminars. Realistically the second year was better, having established recognition and recommendation.

What was the scariest part of starting your own business? In Africa the notion of ‘Etiquette’ is still a new concept; my fear was breaking into the market and being acceptable. Starting my own business also meant, for me, courage, bravery and determination to succeed in the midst of global challenges.

How long have you been in business? Since 2010, going on four years.

What are your favorite things to teach? 1.Communication Proficiency 2. Networking 3. Dining Etiquette 4. Image, Style and Color Analysis 5. Impression Management 6. Business Etiquette

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Currently, I am now a radio show host and present my program ‘Etiquette With Janet’ weekly every Monday, Wednesday and Friday on beat 99.9FM and Classic FM 97.3 also streamed online. My mission is to have an Etiquette TV program and a thriving Finishing School. My vision is to be the leading Protocol, Etiquette & Professional Image consultancy in Africa

What advice would you give to those who are considering taking the Train to be a Corporate Etiquette and International Protocol Consultant course? Have a vision; know what you want in life first.
