Inside Edition Features PSOW’s Pamela Eyring for Insights on Military Protocol Among Top US Generals

For a recent episode of Inside Edition, a national news program featuring stories of cultural interest and government affairs, producers reached out to Pamela Eyring, president and owner of The Protocol School of Washington® (www.psow.edu).

As a global thought leader in the etiquette and protocol industry and former Chief of Protocol at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (the first civilian to hold the position), Pamela was uniquely suited to discuss the dynamics at play at a presidential meeting room full of top military brass.

As noted in the story, “The generals stood at attention, expressionless. When the president started speaking, they sat with their hands on their laps.”

Pamela noted in her interview that respect, decorum, and a regimented response protocol are driven into military best practices at all levels, and especially by top leaders in the ranks.

During her leadership tenure of protocol within the Air Force, Pamela planned and directed military, government, international, and civic ceremonies, conferences, special events, and presidential visits. She later led executive development initiatives for the command’s senior civilian workforce at Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command, shaping the future leadership of the U.S. Air Force.
